E-invoicing mandate — United States
A national network exists, but participation in business-to-business trade is voluntary — often alongside an obligation on public bodies to be able to receive e-invoices. Anyone who wants to invoice electronically here can; nobody has to.

United States · to public authorities in force unverified
⚠ There is no B2B invoicing mandate in the United States — no federal mandate, no central clearance, no tax reporting duty. What exists is directed at federal agencies and their suppliers: invoices to federal bodies run through the Treasury's Invoice Processing Platform. ⚠ That obligation sits in agency-specific procurement clauses rather than in a statute, and allows a case-by-case waiver where electronic submission would be unduly burdensome.
