E-invoicing mandate — South Africa

A regime has been announced or is in legislation, but no binding start date is fixed. Planning here means planning for a direction, not for a date.

South Africa is in consultation, not in implementation: the SARS paper of 17 August 2026 (comments due by 16 October 2026) describes a five-corner model of e-invoicing, an Interoperability Framework and e-Reporting via accredited service providers. It is to be introduced in stages — first a pilot, then voluntary, then mandatory — and the paper expressly names no date. That is why none appears here.

No obligation known

South Africa: as at 10/27/2026, no statutory e-invoicing obligation is known. This entry exists because a missing country reads like “no obligation” without anyone having checked — here someone has.

What Invoiceflair can do — South Africa

South Africa: the engine currently carries no national format of its own. Validating, viewing and converting the European formats remains available — only a country-specific mandatory format is missing.

Stated limit: Invoiceflair creates, validates and reads formats. It is not a Peppol access point and not a clearing service — it does not perform transmission to an authority's platform.
