E-invoicing mandate — Bolivia

An invoice is only valid once the tax administration has accepted it — with a clearance number, a stamp or a code that nobody but the authority can issue. A format tool alone is not enough; access to the platform is required as well.

The stages over time

  1. 12/1/2021

Bolivia · between businesses in force unverified

Bolivia does not impose the obligation by turnover but by naming those concerned: in each Resolución the tax authority designates a group of taxable persons and assigns it a modality — online electronic, online computerised or the authority's web portal. This date applies to the first group.

  2. 10/1/2026

Bolivia · between businesses in force

Twelve groups have been named; for groups nine to twelve the transition period ends on this date, after being extended five times since 2024. There is no nationwide date from which everyone is obliged — anyone not named is not obliged.
