E-invoicing mandate — Mexico
An invoice is only valid once the tax administration has accepted it — with a clearance number, a stamp or a code that nobody but the authority can issue. A format tool alone is not enough; access to the platform is required as well.

The invoice goes to the tax authority or an authorised certifier before issue, is checked against the statutory mandatory contents, receives a number and the authority's digital seal. Only then is it made available to the customer. ⚠ The implementing rules live in the annually re-published Resolución Miscelánea Fiscal and are renumbered in the process — a rule number goes stale every year, the statutory framework does not.
