E-invoicing mandate — Belgium

Delivery runs over the Peppol network: a prescribed format, decentralised transmission via access points, no authority in between. For this model a format tool is enough — a validated invoice is a deliverable invoice.

The stages over time

Belgium · to public authorities in force unverified

  2. 1/1/2026

Belgium · B2B via Peppol in force

Every business established in Belgium with an active VAT number exchanges B2B invoices as structured e-invoices, as a rule Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 over the Peppol network. A PDF by e-mail is not sufficient. Another EN 16931-compliant format is permitted by mutual agreement, but the recipient keeps the right to the standard format.

What Invoiceflair can do — Belgium

Create and validate: Peppol

Stated limit: Invoiceflair creates, validates and reads formats. It is not a Peppol access point and not a clearing service — it does not perform transmission to an authority's platform.
