E-invoicing mandate — Slovakia

An invoice is only valid once the tax administration has accepted it — with a clearance number, a stamp or a code that nobody but the authority can issue. A format tool alone is not enough; access to the platform is required as well.

The stages over time

Slovakia is not building a central authority platform but a Peppol five-corner model: invoice and report travel through certified delivery services, and the tax administration sees the data in near real time. In exchange, the final stage in 2030 removes the existing VAT control statement.
